Principles of Publication Ethics

The principles of publication ethics applied by the editorial staff of "Educational Forum" follows the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

 

Editorial Policy

Decisions to accept articles for publication are made by the editorial board. The decision to accept or reject an article takes into account its coherence with the scope of the subject, originality, and significance for the development of disciplines covered by the journal.

Commercial considerations do not influence editorial decisions. Authors do not pay for the review process and publication of articles.The editorial staff ensures the confidentiality and security of the personal data of the Authors, contributors, and collaborators under the Regulation on the Protection of Personal Data (GDPR).

 

Responsibilities of the Publishing Person

The journal's website contains guidelines for contributors and rules of eligibility of articles for publication.

The Editorial Board expects the Author to confirm that the submitted manuscript is fully independent and that the Author uses other people's works following the rules of copyright law and does not infringe the rights of third parties. The submitted manuscript has not been published before.

Editor requires the Author to provide information on the sources of funding for the publication and the contribution of individual authors to its creation.

The Author is obliged to inform the editorial office of a possible conflict of interest.

 

Responsibilities of Reviewers

The review assists the editor in making editorial decisions and helps the Authors improve the article.

The review should be objective, clearly expressing the reviewer's opinions, using appropriate arguments to support theses. Personal criticism is unacceptable.

The reviewed articles, as confidential documents, cannot be shown or discussed with other people without the editor's permission.

The reviewer(s) shall prepare reviews in a timely manner and in accordance with their competencies.

 

Publication Ethics and Intellectual Property

The editors shall monitor compliance with publication ethics by Authors, reviewers, and editorial team members.

The editors shall endeavor to develop their knowledge of abuseś in publishing practice and ways to resolve them and to apply this knowledge in editorial practice.

The editors shall endeavor to select reviewers impartially and supervise the reviewing process, paying attention to meeting deadlines and preventing conflicts of interest, ensuring that the papers submitted to the editorial office are not misused or made available to outsiders.

The editorial office shall verify that the person publishing the text has received all necessary permissions to publish it and shall maintain impartiality by treating Authors' texts equally, irrespective of their sex, race, nationality, origin, etc.

The editors attach particular importance to the detection of any publication fraud, especially:

- plagiarism,
- duplicate publications,
- data fabrication,
-ghostwriting and guest authorship.

In cases of abuse detection, the editorial staff will take the following actions: contact the Author to clarify the situation, collect documentation with evidence, and notify relevant institutions in justified cases.

In the case of inaccuracies or misstatements in the published material, the editors will publish a prominently displayed explanation, correction, or apology.

 

In situations not listed in the above publication ethics rules, editors follow the guidelines of COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics)  https://publicationethics.org/

 

IMPORTANT: The editors have the right to ask for explanations of publication inconsistencies, from authors and reviewers, in writing and consult with the Research Ethics Committee of the University of Lower Silesia.
